Chin delivers it with the emotional range of someone reading assembly instructions. The pacing is glacial. I checked my phone twice thinking the playback had somehow slowed down.
My fix: 1.25x speed. Maybe 1.5x if you're comfortable with it. This isn't me betraying my "the author chose those words" philosophy—this is me acknowledging that Chin's pacing doesn't match Kaku's energy. The content deserves urgency. Chin gives you a Sunday afternoon when you need a TED talk.
Some listeners apparently loved the slower pace for complex material. Fair enough. But I found myself re-listening to sections not because I missed something, but because the delivery had put me into a trance state where I'd stopped processing.

Skip it if you need your science narrated with drama. Skip it if you want cutting-edge 2024 developments. Skip it if you can't handle adjusting your playback speed.

The prose deserves to be savored, even if the narration occasionally tests your patience. I've already recommended it to three colleagues in the science department. They seemed surprised that the English teacher had opinions about antimatter propulsion.
