
J.R.R. Tolkien
John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (1892–1973) was an English writer, philologist, and academic, best known for creating the high fantasy works The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. He was a professor at Oxford University and is widely regarded as the father of modern fantasy literature. His works have been translated into many languages and adapted into award-winning films.
