Henry Gray

Henry Gray (1827–1861) was an English anatomist and surgeon best known for authoring Gray's Anatomy, a seminal textbook on human anatomy first published in 1858. He was a meticulous and methodical worker who learned anatomy through hands-on dissection. Gray won several prestigious awards during his career, including the Royal College of Surgeons Triennial Prize and the Astley Cooper prize.
