Robert E. Howard
Robert Ervin Howard (1906-1936) was an American pulp writer known for his fantasy, horror, historical adventure, boxing, western, and detective fiction. He created the character Conan the Barbarian and is regarded as the father of the sword and sorcery subgenre. Howard was born and raised in rural Texas and wrote prolifically until his death at age 30.
