Gary Paulsen

Gary Paulsen (1939–2021) was a prolific American author known for his young adult and children's literature, especially coming-of-age stories set in the wilderness. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he overcame a challenging childhood and drew on his extensive outdoor experiences, including dog sledding and survival skills, to craft his stories. He wrote over 200 books and was celebrated for his authentic and engaging storytelling.
