Because the texting buildup means the tension is already cranked to eleven before these two ever meet face to face. And when they do meet, Logan doesn't try to be something he's not. He's not secretly a billionaire. He's not hiding some dark past (well, not really). He's just... genuinely good. Which sounds boring on paper but Sebastian York's voice makes it anything BUT boring.
The banter between Banner and Logan is what carries this book. She's sharp and a little guarded, he's direct and unshakeable. That push-pull between two people who want each other but won't quite say it yet is something Neighbors also does well, though the slow burn there runs a lot cooler. Their chemistry reads like flirting you'd actually want to be on the receiving end of, not the cringe-worthy stuff where you're rolling your eyes at a stoplight.
Fair warning: this moves fast. Like, these two go from texting to steamy pretty quickly. If you need a slow burn where they don't touch until chapter 22, this isn't your book. But if you're okay with the pace — and honestly at 5 hours, a slow burn would've felt weird — it works.

Sebastian York voices Logan with this low, unhurried Kentucky warmth that makes every line feel like he's talking directly to you. Not performative-sexy. Actually sexy. There's a difference and he knows it. When Logan says something straightforward and earnest, York doesn't oversell it. He just... lets it land. And it lands.
Elena Wolfe matches him perfectly as Banner. She nails the sassy New York energy without making Banner sound bratty or one-dimensional. There's a moment early on where Banner is clearly catching feelings but trying to play it cool, and Wolfe's delivery — this tiny shift in her voice, a little softer, a little less guarded — gave me actual butterflies in a Target parking lot. (Sophie was asleep in the car seat. I was NOT going inside to ruin it.)
The dual narration is the right call for this book. Switching between his POV and hers keeps the pacing tight and means you're never stuck too long in one head. Survived 47 pauses and still made sense — the voice switch alone tells you exactly where you are when you come back from breaking up a sibling fight.

Is the story groundbreaking? No. The fish-out-of-water rich girl/blue collar guy setup has been done before and March isn't reinventing anything here. But sometimes you don't need groundbreaking. Sometimes you need a book that makes you smile during the school run and gives you something to look forward to during nap time. This does exactly that.

If you love Meghan March's alpha-but-not-toxic heroes, this is peak her. If you want something short enough to finish in a week, steamy enough to make pickup line interesting, and sweet enough to leave you in a good mood — car time approved. If you need complete story arcs with no cliffhangers, skip this one or wait until you can grab both books together. Seriously. The cliffhanger will haunt you.
Not groundbreaking, but sometimes you don't need groundbreaking. You need five hours of a good man with a great voice telling you exactly what he's thinking. Satisfying ending — well, it WOULD be satisfying if it actually ended. Buy both books. Trust me.
