Garth Nix
Garth Nix is an Australian author born in 1963, best known for his young adult fantasy and science fiction novels, particularly the Old Kingdom series starting with Sabriel. He has sold over seven million books worldwide, with translations into 42 languages, and has been a full-time writer since 2001. Nix has also worked in various roles in the publishing industry and served as a part-time soldier in the Australian Army Reserve.
