Dale Carnegie (1888â1955) was an American writer and teacher known for his courses in self-improvement, salesmanship, corporate training, public speaking, and interpersonal skills. Born into poverty on a Missouri farm, he authored the seminal self-help book How to Win Friends and Influence People (1936), which has sold millions of copies worldwide and remains influential today.
