Anne McCaffrey

Anne Inez McCaffrey (1926–2011) was an American-born Irish science fiction and fantasy writer best known for her Dragonriders of Pern series. She was the first woman to win both the Hugo and Nebula Awards and was recognized with numerous lifetime achievement awards. Her work is noted for its appeal to young adults and its focus on personal and emotional needs within adventurous, romantic tales.
