Agnes Strickland

Agnes Strickland (1796–1874) was an English historical writer and poet, best known for her multi-volume work 'Lives of the Queens of England' (1840–1848). She collaborated closely with her sister Elizabeth, who did much of the research and writing but preferred to remain anonymous. Agnes was awarded a civil list pension in 1870 and was a prominent Victorian biographer focusing on female historical figures.
