Zona Gale

Zona Gale (1874–1938) was an American novelist, short story writer, and playwright from Portage, Wisconsin. She was the first woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1921 for her play adaptation of the novel Miss Lulu Bett. Her works often depicted small-town Midwestern life with realism and local color, and later incorporated mysticism.
