William Harmon Norton (1856–1944) was an American geologist and classicist who studied and taught at Cornell College. Initially a professor of Greek and Latin, he became fascinated with geology and founded the college's geology department, serving as professor of geology until his retirement in 1924. He also worked for the United States Geological Survey and is best known for his influential textbook, Elements of Geology.
