William H. Prescott

William Hickling Prescott (1796–1859) was an American historian renowned for his detailed and vivid chronicles of the Spanish Empire's rise and fall, particularly in the Americas. Despite poor eyesight, he produced influential works on Spanish history and the conquests of Mexico and Peru, which remain classics in historical literature.
