William Brinkley

William Clark Brinkley (1917–1993) was an American writer and journalist, best known for his novels 'Don't Go Near the Water' and 'The Last Ship.' He served as a U.S. Navy officer during World War II and later worked as a reporter and editor for Life magazine and The Washington Post. Brinkley's works often draw on his naval experience and explore themes of military life and survival.
