Virgil

Virgil, born Publius Vergilius Maro (70 BCE–19 BCE), was a Roman poet renowned for his epic poem the Aeneid, which tells the legendary story of Aeneas, a Trojan hero and the mythical founder of Rome. Educated in Cremona, Milan, and Rome, he was deeply attached to Italian virtues and traditions and was a key literary figure in Augustan Rome. His works have profoundly influenced Western literature and culture.
