Val McDermid

Val McDermid is a Scottish crime writer born in 1955, known for her Tartan Noir style and over 30 novels. She was a journalist for sixteen years before becoming a full-time author and has received numerous awards for her work. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and the Royal Society of Edinburgh and has been recognized for her lifetime contribution to crime writing.
