Thomas Stevens

Thomas Stevens (1854-1935) was the first person to circle the globe by bicycle, completing his journey from 1884 to 1886. He documented his travels in a two-volume book, Around the World on a Bicycle, which became a bestseller and made him a celebrated adventurer and writer. Stevens also worked as a special correspondent and later pursued other explorations and theatrical management.
