Thomas Reid (1710–1796) was a Scottish philosopher and a leading founder of the Scottish Common Sense tradition. Born in Strachan, Scotland, he studied at Marischal College, taught at King’s College, Aberdeen, and became Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Glasgow in 1764.
