Ralph Metzner

Ralph Metzner (1936–2019) was a German-born American psychologist, writer, and researcher known for his pioneering work in psychedelic research alongside Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert at Harvard University in the early 1960s. He was a psychotherapist and professor emeritus of psychology at the California Institute for Integral Studies, with decades of research and writing on consciousness, psychedelics, yoga, meditation, and shamanism. Metzner was also president of the Green Earth Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to reconnecting humans and the environment.
