Rabindranath Tagore

Rabindranath Tagore (1861–1941) was a Bengali polymath—poet, writer, playwright, composer, philosopher, and painter—who reshaped Bengali and Indian art through Contextual Modernism. He was the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 for his work Gitanjali. Tagore was also a social reformer and nationalist who influenced Indian culture and literature profoundly.
