R.H. Charles

Robert Henry Charles (1855–1931) was an Irish biblical scholar and theologian who became the foremost authority of his time on Jewish eschatology and apocrypha. He left parochial work in 1889 to focus on biblical research and produced many influential translations and editions of apocryphal texts. He served as a canon and later archdeacon at Westminster Abbey.
