Paulo Freire

Paulo Freire (1921–1997) was a Brazilian educator and Marxist philosopher renowned for his influential work in critical pedagogy. His seminal book, Pedagogy of the Oppressed, reimagines education as a collaborative act of liberation and has had a profound global impact on educational theory and practice. He was exiled for 16 years due to political tensions in Brazil and later served as an education advisor internationally and as Secretary of Education in São Paulo.
