Pat Barker

Pat Barker is an English novelist born in 1943, renowned for her fiction that explores themes of memory, trauma, survival, and recovery. She gained critical acclaim for her Regeneration Trilogy set during World War I, and more recently for her retellings of classical myths from a female perspective, including The Silence of the Girls. Barker has won numerous literary awards and honors, including the Booker Prize.
