P. L. Travers

P. L. Travers (1899–1996) was an Australian-British writer best known for creating the beloved Mary Poppins series. She was also a playwright, essayist, and lecturer on mythology and symbols. Travers was known for her mysterious and prickly personality and continued to write prolifically beyond her famous children's books.
