Norman Maclean

Norman Fitzroy Maclean (1902-1990) was an American author and scholar best known for his novella 'A River Runs Through It and Other Stories' and the non-fiction book 'Young Men and Fire.' He was a professor at the University of Chicago, where he received three Quantrell Awards for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching. Maclean's writing was deeply influenced by his Montana upbringing, family tragedies, and his love of fly fishing.
