Nellie Letitia McClung (1873â1951) was a Canadian feminist, author, social activist, and politician, renowned for her role in the women's suffrage movement and the Persons Case which legally recognized women as persons under Canadian law. She wrote 16 books including novels, essays, and autobiographies, and was also a public speaker and social reformer. McClung was appointed the only female member of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's first board of governors and served as a delegate to the League of Nations.
