Mohammed Marmaduke Pickthall

Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall (1875–1936) was an English Islamic scholar and novelist who converted from Christianity to Islam. He is best known for his 1930 English translation of the Quran, titled The Meaning of the Glorious Koran, which remains one of the most widely known and respected English translations. Pickthall was also a political activist and teacher, esteemed by literary figures such as D. H. Lawrence and H. G. Wells.
