Mikhail Bulgakov

Mikhail Bulgakov (1891–1940) was a Russian and Soviet novelist, playwright, and short-story writer known for his sharp satire and fantasy. Initially a medical doctor, he turned to literature during the turbulent post-revolutionary period in Russia. His works were often censored during his lifetime, but posthumously he gained recognition as one of the great Russian authors of the 20th century.
