Lynne Reid Banks

Lynne Reid Banks (1929–2024) was a British author known for both children's and adult books. She began her career as an actress and television journalist before becoming a writer. Her most famous work is the children's novel 'The Indian in the Cupboard,' which sold over 15 million copies and was adapted into a film. She also wrote biographical fiction about the Brontë sisters and won the J. M. Barrie award for outstanding contribution to children's arts in 2013.
