Lajos Egri

Lajos N. Egri (1888–1967) was a Hungarian-American playwright and teacher of creative writing. He is best known for his influential books The Art of Dramatic Writing and The Art of Creative Writing, which focus on character development and the fundamentals of dramatic writing. Egri founded the Egri School of Writing in New York City and continued teaching until his death.
