Khaled Hosseini
Khaled Hosseini is an Afghan-American novelist and former physician born in Kabul in 1965. He is best known for his debut novel The Kite Runner (2003), which brought international acclaim and has been followed by other bestsellers like A Thousand Splendid Suns and And the Mountains Echoed. Hosseini is also a UNHCR goodwill ambassador and founder of the Khaled Hosseini Foundation, supporting Afghan refugees.
