Julie Plec (born May 26, 1972) is an American television producer, writer, and director best known for co-creating The CW's The Vampire Diaries and its spin-offs The Originals and Legacies. She has also written novels based on the TV series, including the Stefan's Diaries book series. Plec began her career working with Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson on the Scream franchise.
