Joseph Jacobs

Joseph Jacobs (1854–1916) was an Australian-born folklorist, literary critic, and historian who became a leading authority on English and Celtic folklore. He popularized many well-known English fairy tales and compiled collections of Celtic, Indian, Jewish, and European fairy tales. Jacobs was also an editor of folklore journals and contributed significantly to the study and preservation of folk narratives.
