Joseph William Comyns Carr (1849-1916) was an English drama and art critic, gallery director, author, poet, playwright, and theatre manager. He is known for his blank verse play 'King Arthur' (1895), inspired by Thomas Malory and Alfred Tennyson, and produced by Henry Irving at the Lyceum Theatre. Carr was also involved in the Pre-Raphaelite art movement and wrote essays, books, and adaptations of classic tales.
