John Dixon Carr

John Dickson Carr (1906–1977) was an American mystery writer renowned for his mastery of the locked-room mystery genre. He wrote over 70 books, many radio scripts for the Suspense series, and was awarded the Mystery Writers of America's Grand Master Award. Carr was also authorized to write the biography of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, which earned him two Special Edgar Awards.
