Jim Kjelgaard

Jim Kjelgaard (1910-1959) was an American author known for his young adult literature, particularly adventure novels. He wrote more than forty novels, with 'Big Red' being his most famous work. Kjelgaard was born in New York City and spent much of his childhood on a farm in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania.
