Jeanne-Marie Bouvier de La Motte Guyon (1648–1717) was a French Roman Catholic mystic and writer known for her advocacy of Quietism, a spiritual doctrine emphasizing passivity and union with God through prayer and contemplation. Despite facing imprisonment and condemnation by the Church, she remained a significant figure in 17th-century French theological debates and Christian mysticism.
