Jean M. Auel

Jean Marie Auel, born February 18, 1936, is an American author best known for her Earth's Children series, which explores prehistoric Europe and the interactions between Cro-Magnon people and Neanderthals. She conducted extensive research into Ice Age Europe and has been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including the French government's Officer in the Order of Arts and Letters. Auel lives in Portland, Oregon.
