Jamaica Kincaid

Jamaica Kincaid, born Elaine Cynthia Potter Richardson in 1949 in St. John's, Antigua, is an Antiguan-American novelist, essayist, and gardening writer. She emigrated to the United States at sixteen and became a staff writer for The New Yorker. Her work often explores themes of colonialism, family relationships, and identity, drawing heavily on her own life experiences.
