Irenaeus

Irenaeus was a 2nd-century bishop of Lugdunum (now Lyon, France) and a leading Christian theologian. He is best known for his work Against Heresies, written around 180 AD, which refuted Gnostic teachings and helped establish orthodox Christian doctrine. He played a key role in developing the Christian canon, creed, and episcopal authority.
