Gaston Maspero

Gaston Maspero (1846–1916) was a French Egyptologist and archaeologist, renowned for his leadership in Egyptian antiquities and for popularizing the term 'Sea Peoples.' He served as director general of excavations and antiquities for the Egyptian government and was instrumental in founding the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Maspero was a professor at the Collège de France and made significant contributions to the study and preservation of ancient Egyptian history and artifacts.
