Frederick Marryat

Captain Frederick Marryat (1792–1848) was a British Royal Navy officer and novelist, known as an early pioneer of nautical fiction. He wrote both adult and children's novels, drawing heavily on his naval experiences. His notable works include 'Mr Midshipman Easy' and 'The Children of the New Forest'.
