Thomas Anstey Guthrie (1856-1934) was an English novelist and journalist known for his comic novels written under the pseudonym F. Anstey. Born in Kensington, London, he was educated at King's College School and Trinity Hall, Cambridge, and was called to the bar in 1880. He gained success with works like the farce The Man from Blankleys and wrote several novels and parodies, many adapted for stage and film.
