Elizabeth Acevedo

Elizabeth Acevedo is an American poet and author of Dominican descent, raised in Harlem, New York City. She is known for her young adult novels written in verse that explore themes of identity, culture, and family. Acevedo holds a BA in Performing Arts from The George Washington University and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Maryland, and she lives in Washington, DC.
