Edward S. Herman (1925–2017) was an American economist, media scholar, and social critic known for his work on political economy and media analysis. He was Professor Emeritus of Finance at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and collaborated extensively with Noam Chomsky. Herman is best known for developing the propaganda model of media with Chomsky and for his critical analyses of U.S. foreign policy and mass media.
