Carlos M. N. Eire

Carlos Eire is a Cuban-American historian and author born in Havana in 1950. He was one of 14,000 children airlifted out of Cuba during Operation Pedro Pan in 1962. He earned his PhD at Yale University and is a professor of history and religious studies. His memoir, Waiting for Snow in Havana, won the National Book Award in Nonfiction in 2003.
