Azar Nafisi

Azar Nafisi is an Iranian-American writer and professor of English literature, born in Tehran in 1948. She is best known for her memoir 'Reading Lolita in Tehran,' which recounts her experiences teaching Western literature in Iran during the Islamic Revolution and the years following. Nafisi has held academic positions in Iran and the United States and has been recognized for her work on literature, culture, and human rights.
