Anicius Manlius Severinus Boethius

Boethius (c. 480–524/525 AD) was a Roman senator, philosopher, scholar, and statesman from a prominent aristocratic family. He is best known for his work 'The Consolation of Philosophy,' written during his imprisonment before his execution. Boethius played a key role in transmitting Greek philosophy and science to the medieval Latin world and was influential in Christian theology and medieval education.
