Allan W. Eckert

Allan Wesley Eckert (1931–2011) was an American author, naturalist, and playwright known for his historical novels and narratives about the early American frontier and Native American history. He wrote over 40 books, including the six-volume Winning of America series, and contributed extensively to the wildlife documentary series Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. Eckert was nominated seven times for the Pulitzer Prize and won several literary and media awards.
