Alexander Hamilton

Alexander Hamilton (1755/57–1804) was a Founding Father of the United States, a New York delegate to the Constitutional Convention, and the first U.S. Secretary of the Treasury. He was a major author of The Federalist Papers, writing 51 of the 85 essays, and a leading advocate for a strong central government. Hamilton played a key role in shaping the nation's financial system and political foundations.
